When you recovered the PC to factory condition did that include a preinstalled Office trial that you then failed to first uninstall before installing your version? And then what error msg is returned when you use on-line activation? If the msg is on the lines of too many activations, then use phone activation but do not respond to any prompts until given the option to speak to a real person, then explain you are reinstalling on the original PC.

When I first restored to factory condition, there was a preinstalled Office which asked for the Product Key. I inserted the key found on the Office pack but system said it is the wrong key. The Office pack that came with the laptop was still sealed. I uninstalled Office and reinstalled from the Office pack, using the Product Key. That was successful but I am unable to activate it, either via Internet or telephone. Message was Activation failed and connect me to Microsoft personnel.

All I am trying to do is to reinstall Office which I have already paid the price in full back onto the same laptop it was originally installed in.
