For heavy email users who know their contact list, it will take me at least times of using the pop up to get all of the address to autocomplete.

That is a needless clicks and popups. However, as a workaround, I decided to copy all my contacts into a TO: field once, and now they are all Auto-Completing without me having to wait to choose them! No thanks to the program but to a bit ingenuity fooling the program into thinking I had used all my contacts in an email at least once.

I checked in the internet the different suggestions - nothing helped. It works as designed. The autcomplete feature remembers the most recent addresses to which you've send messages. No matter what I tried it would not remember the addresses. I finally fixed it today. What had happened was that my old pst file was set as the default under data files rather than the new IMAP account. Switching the defaults got AutoComplete working. However in the process I lost all of the entries in the address book.

Luckily I had exported them to a. To populate the now working AutoComplete file with all of the addresses from the imported address book, I used the trick I found elsewhere. Typing a letter will open a list of Frequently used contacts. It does not show your saved contacts. Up until recently when I typed the 1st letter of any contact that was saved it would show them as a possibility to include in the address bar along with any other contact starting with that letter.

So it was inclusive of saved contacts, at the moment I get nothing pop up saved or frequently used. It just pops up with a box saying search people with a magnifying glass next to it and then when you click on it it says 'no match can be found'.

Before if I clicked on this as well it would bring up a list from my saved contacts. In Outlook. These are mail addresses that you don't have in you address book but have sent mail previously.

Just for clarification, I understand what you are saying about the suggested contacts being addresses you have e-mailed and not saved which yes they did use to pop up on typing a 1st letter but the saved contacts also did.

When you click on To or the Cc button and start typing the name of contacts, will the list of suggested contacts appear? Hi, I used to type the 1st letter of an e-mail address or contact in the TO, CC or BCC bar and all the addresses that matched that from my saved contacts used to pop up for me to choose from Autocomplete it is not doing that now at all now?
