R.i.p. top 10 most overrated games
Fallout 3. It's the best game ever! No, it's not. He loves this game, but it doesn't deserve the best game of all time tagline. It isn't even the best game on the PS3. The game has to be near flawless for a game to be the best of all time, however, this game has several issues such as bad pacing and a terrible ending.
Super Mario Bros 2 had a better ending. It is one of Jon's personal favorite games, it just doesn't deserve the title of the best game. Super Smash Bros: Previous. Any Smash game that came before Brawl, as every Smash game is better than the last. Brawl has more characters, items, better graphics, better gameplay, and smash balls!
Also, Snake is in this game. This game evolves and gets better with time. Technically, Brawl is better than Melee, and Melee is better than Smash Left 4 Dead Series. The second isn't any different than the first. The reality is that Nash's career was completely exaggerated and from day one, he was overrated. Choke-slams and big boots can only take you so far; the fans will eventually begin to notice a lack of wrestling skill at one point.
Ultimo Dragon was one of the biggest wrestling stars in the world, but promotions such as WWE and WCW never thought of him as being a top guy. Mainly booked for mid-card matches which were always very entertaining for fans, the Ultimo Dragon delivered some incredible performances, as he pulled off some seriously incredible moves over the course of his career.
It's a shame that overrated guys such as Lex Luger got promoted more than the Ultimo Dragon, who really did deserve to be a main-eventer. Paving the way for wrestling legends such as Rey Mysterio, Ultimo Dragon was definitely one of the more talented wrestlers to ever step into the ring.
Not being utilized enough in North America, he spent much of his time overseas. Ultimo was more valued by promotions around the world who saw his potential. I rate Ultimo Dragon as an underrated wrestler because he really did deserve to win more championships while he was in North America.
He certainly racked up the gold in other countries though. Jeff Jarrett was always one of those wrestlers that did a lot of things well, but didn't reall excel at one particular trait. He wrestled decent matches, his promos were decent and he had somewhat of a presence, but decent doesn't mean you're main event caliber, which is a spot Jarrett has held much of his career. Part of this has been Jarrett's pull backstage but it just doesn't seem right that Jarrett main evented so many shows while far more talented guys were lost in the shuffle.
Jarrett was a multiple time WCW champion in , after going to the promotion in late Luckily, WWE never overrated Jarrett's abilities. William Regal deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, but sadly, only a small number of wrestling fans will ever understand the talent that William Regal possessed during his wrestling days. The list of accomplishments Regal won during his wrestling career looks as though he would have been a wrestling superstar, but he never went mainstream as he is still more unknown than he should be.
He showed great wrestling technique with awesome promos. His career never really took off as one would have expected. Regal was completely underrated as a wrestler and is an unknown to many fans of today. William Regal's name should be mentioned often in any conversation of the best of all time; his list of accolades speak for themselves.
The Rock is one of the most recognizable figures in America today, being one of the most successful actors around. Before his acting career took off, The Rock achieved some success in the wrestling world, but don't let that success distract you; he was totally overrated as a wrestler.
His mic skills are that of an all-time great and he has the charisma of a star. But his talent did not carry him during matches as The Rock's actual wrestling skills are limited to say the least. His People's Elbow finisher is one of the worst closers ever, and he stole the whole sharpshooter bit from Bret Hart as well.
The Rock just didn't have a huge range of moves in the ring, but he is still widely believed to be one of the best wrestlers of all time. The Rock winning the belt in felt like a joke, with him being a part-timer who only comes around every few months. And yet he somehow managed to bury actual full-time wrestlers. Bam Bam Bigelow had a lot more going for him than just his big body; he was one of the most skilled wrestlers of all-time.
He had all the tools needed when it came to professional wrestling and he deserves more recognition for his incredible talent in the ring. With a cool gimmick and an awesome head tattoo, what's not to like about Bam Bam Bigelow?
First off, the name Bam Bam Bigelow is a great wrestling name and his skills in the ring were just as good. Bigelow was very agile for his body type, and could pull off moves a lot better than his stiff opponents. After his very successful career in ECW, it's a shame that WWE didn't push him harder and he never was able to win a title. This guy was so athletic that at his size he could still pull off a moonsault. I believe he deserved a lot more high profile matches and just more respect as an overall wrestler.
For these reasons, he makes this underrated list. I'm sure this will stir up some debate, but put your childhood love for The Ultimate Warrior to the side, and listen to my reasoning for why he's overrated. While The Ultimate Warrior was definitely energetic in the ring, he won a lot of titles that easily could have gone to some other very deserving, more talented wrestlers.
Known for having an undisciplined work ethic, The Ultimate Warrior couldn't seem to get along with any of the other talent. His gimmick is definitely a classic, loved by many wrestling fans. His shortfall was he didn't have many redeeming qualities other than his gimmick.
Maybe The Ultimate Warrior wouldn't be quite so overrated if he wasn't featured and promoted as much as he was. Since being introduced, Hawkeye has primarily operated as team player, rarely taking the solo route.
Hawkeye has fought for, and at times, has led a number of teams, including the Avengers, the Defenders, and the West Coast Avengers. Unlike Hawkeye, Green Arrow has a proven track record of working on his own. In fact, he has his own city to guard over in Star City.
Of course, this isn't to say that Green Arrow doesn't play well with others. He's mentored several young archers, and has been a member of various iterations of the Justice League. But, ultimately, Green Arrow is just plain cooler than Hawkeye. DC's archer is half Batman and half Robin Hood. Plus, his origin, which involves being stranded on an island and forced to sharpen his survival instincts, is way more interesting than Hawkeye's. Green Arrow has a successful TV show, and even without a cinematic appearance, he seems to be more popular than Hawkeye.
With a cinematic appearance -- which seems inevitable -- there will be no contest between Hawkeye and Green Arrow. The Vision made his first appearance in Avengers 57 , two months after a similar android by the name of Red Tornado appeared in Justice League of America While it's entirely possibel that this was just a coincidence, there are enough similarities between the two to think that Vision was ripped-off of Red Tornado. Both were androids that were originally created to destroy the team that they'd end up joining -- Red Tornado with the Justice League, and Vision with the Avengers.
With regard to popularity, there isn't much of contest between the two androids. Since he first turned on Ultron and joined the Avengers, Vision has been an Avenger in some shape or form for the past 50 years.
Although he's been destroyed several times -- including as recently as of this past May -- he keeps coming back, his essence appearing to be indestructible. He's also appeared in several MCU movies, which introduced him to audiences outside of the hardcore comics-fans. Red Tornado hasn't received the movie treatment, and we can't seem getting a movie anytime remotely soon.
For DC's android, the best we can hope for is a cameo of some sort. Red Tornado also isn't as prevalent as Vision is in the comics, but he's played a role on several Justice League teams, never being much more than a supporting character.
Most fans probably don't even know that Marvel attempted their own version of DC's Joker. The villain's name is Jester, and he first appeared in Daredevil Vol. Jester is primarily a foe of Daredevil's, although he occasionally clashes with others like Spider-Man and Jessica Jones. Like Joker, Jester is a criminal that embraces clown-themed theatrics -- but aside from that, there isn't much similarity.
Joker is one of the most terrifying villains in all of pop culture. He's a murdering maniac that's committed countless atrocities, and it's difficult to imagine him ever truly reforming due to what he's done in the past and how evil to the core he appears to be. Compared to Joker, Jester is much more of an average criminal.
While Jester does frequently try to foment chaos, he won't go near the extremes that Joker is willing to go to. We think it's safe to say that it's virtually impossible for Jester to rival Joker with regard to popularity. In every story that Joker is in -- whether it be mediated by comic-book page or the big-screen -- he steals the show. This can rarely, if ever, be said of Jester. The Hulk seems to be a mash-up of the Doctor Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde duality, and Solomon Grundy. Both are unstoppable behemoths, who often go on blind rampages -- although Hulk has managed to channel his energies towards some moral end most of the time.
Looking at pure strength and build, it's hard not see the similarities between the two. Both have proved themselves capable of stomping whoever steps into their path.
Ultimately, Hulk is the much more popular monster of the two. Though the characters share many of the same traits, Hulk is much more complex due to his relationship with Bruce Banner. Grundy, on the other hand, is often little more than horror villain. He hasn't gone through half as many changes as Hulk has. Plus, Hulk has received much more exposure through other mediums, and particularly in the MCU films.
Even hardcore fans may not know this, but Marvel created their own Scarecrow that makes no serious attempts at distancing itself from its DC counterpart. In addition to their name, the two villains have much in common. Firstly, although DC's Scarecrow changes his outfit more often, they generally share an extremely similar look. If the same name and the same look wasn't enough, they both use a scare toxin! Readers of Marvel comics may do a double-take when reading a story where Scarecrow pops up because he's practically the same character as his DC counterpart.
To be fair, Marvel's Scarecrow also has a set of sub-par superhuman abilities, unlike the Batman baddie. DC's Scarecrow is by far the more popular of the two. Marvel seems to be aware of the appalling similarity between the two because their Scarecrow is used sparingly.
DC beat Marvel to the punch with this fear-based villain and their Scarecrow rightfully receives more fanfare. The creation of Deadpool was inspired by DC's Deathstroke the Terminator -- although he ended up being more of a parody of the classic Teen Titans enemy.
As with some of the others on this list, it's been explicitly stated that Deadpool was ripped-off of Deathstroke. Excuse me for a minute while I slip into this asbestos suit and close the door on my insulated concrete bunker in an undisclosed location. The canon of computer gaming is massive, with new classics added every year.
Feel free to leave your picks in the comments, as well as any thoughts you have on my mother and her sexual purity. A gorgeous fictional world with an incredible backstory is squandered on the dullest, mushiest cover shooting to be found anywhere, and Elizabeth, the companion character you were supposed to bond with and feel real emotion for, spends the majority of the game throwing money at you like you were a low-rent pole dancer.
Metacritic: 94 Mortal Kombat One big problem with the video games industry is that controversy and gimmicks sell games just as well as good gameplay does. And when it came out, critical reception was overwhelmingly positive. But once you get your hands on Sackboy and his cohorts, you learn the awful secret of LBP: it handles like total crap, and nobody wants to play a platformer with bad controls.
Metacritic: 95 8. However, when Metal Gear Solid 4 came out, gamers and reviewers looked the other way and praised the game despite it being predominantly incoherent cutscenes.
